Intuit's Consumer Group is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Data to help build the Consumer Data Plane using Credit Karma and Turbotax data to enable AI-native experiences and personalized features.

This foundational role focuses on building scalable data frameworks and pipelines, advancing streaming and data governance, and delivering reliable, scalable data services for product teams and growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in backend services and data infrastructure (Scala/Java).
• 7+ years designing and operating high-throughput distributed systems.
• 3+ years with streaming platforms (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
• 3+ years building data pipelines on major cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Experience with RPC frameworks (Finagle, gRPC, Akka).
• CI/CD, code review, automated testing practices.
• Experience building reusable frameworks or SDKs.
• Experience with Apache Beam/Dataflow and CDC patterns.
• Knowledge of encryption, governance, and data quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI/GenAI and knowledge graphs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency data frameworks.
• Develop Scala-based microservices and frameworks on Finagle, Akka, and gRPC.
• Build cloud-native data pipelines on GCP using Dataflow, Spark, Pub/Sub, BigQuery.
• Own and evolve Kafka-based streaming infrastructure with latency guarantees.
• Create self-service tooling to reduce adoption time for data platform.
• Drive architectural design through reviews and TDDS.
• Participate in on-call rotations and observability enhancements.
