Job summary

Render is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the Data Platform Engineering team and set the technical direction for analytics, data science, and operational decision-making. You will design and operate pipelines, services, and infrastructure that ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and trust across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of analytics engineering or data engineering experience with a track record of leading complex data systems.
• Expertise in modern cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake) and data modeling.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with reliable ingestion and ELT pipelines.
• Experience with orchestration platforms (Airflow/Prefect/Dagster) and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Own data platform architecture and core data system direction.
• Build and operate trusted data pipelines delivering accurate, timely data.
• Evolve orchestration platform, deployments, and reliability.
• Own warehouse reliability and governance, partner with analytics on dbt models.
• Build cloud services and APIs, use IaC for maintainable deployments.
