Job summary

Experian is seeking a Staff Architect to shape the Data & AI Platform Architecture team. You will lead cross-border data products, ensure data is usable for AI agents, and set semantic standards across regions. This role combines hands-on building with architectural leadership in a global context.

You will mentor engineers and collaborate with data science teams to validate new Data & AI capabilities while aligning with enterprise-scale governance and platform designs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on data platforms, analytics infrastructure, and AI/ML systems.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in science, technology, engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated first-principles reasoning about platform tradeoffs at the mechanism level.
• Hands-on experience across the full data lifecycle from ingestion to BI/ML delivery.
• Experience with data modeling, schema design, data quality, lineage, and governance at scale.
• Experience designing architectures for unified, governed data access across systems.
• Experience overseeing shared platform architectures, setting boundaries and tradeoffs.
• Experience with distributed computing and cloud-native infra (AWS preferred) including cost and ops.
• Infrastructure as code and operating production workloads.
• Hands-on experience with graph databases, entity resolution or record linkage.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanisms for cross-border data products using privacy-preserving techniques and shared semantics.
• Build cross-border entity resolution with data science teams focusing on matching quality.
• Create layers for semantic data consumption with governed discovery and access paths.
• Guide engineering teams with reference implementations and reusable patterns.
• Lead prototyping and R&D to validate Data & AI capabilities.
• Mentor engineers in fundamentals thinking, system design, and product awareness.
