Fanatics Betting and Gaming is hiring a Staff Data Engineer to shape the data foundation powering our platform. You will own ingestion pipelines, orchestration, and data delivery, ensuring reliable, secure, and cost-efficient data movement from source to decision-output.

This senior IC role demands ownership of critical data systems, high-stakes problem solving, and setting standards that guide engineers across teams.

Competenze

• 8+ years of professional software or data engineering experience, including production data platforms at scale.
• Proven track record delivering large, cross-team data systems from ambiguous requirements.
• Expert Python and SQL with ETL/ELT patterns for high-volume transformations.
• Deep Airflow expertise with DAG design at scale and operations.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, dbt, Tableau, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.

Mansioni

• Own architecture and design of ingestion pipelines and data delivery systems.
• Define frameworks for pipelines, DAGs, testing, monitoring, and cataloging.
• Lead diagnosis of data integrity and reliability issues, driving fixes and runbooks.
• Set reliability standards (SLOs, alerts, on-call health) and reduce toil.
• Lead data security and governance strategy in partnership with Security/Legal/Compliance.
• Design reverse ETL and data delivery integrations with clear SLAs.
• Drive platform decisions on Snowflake, Databricks, AWS; optimize costs.
• Review design and PRs, mentor engineers, and help hire.
