Stripe is seeking a Staff-level Data Engineer to lead a team building data pipelines and data warehouses for Payments, Risk, and Product. You will collaborate with Data Platform and other Stripe teams to deliver trusted data foundations powering analytics, ML, and merchant-facing interfaces.

The role emphasizes ownership of end-to-end data infrastructure, mentoring engineers, and advancing data processing frameworks. Attractive remote/hybrid work options and comprehensive compensation.

Qualifications

• Ten-plus years building and operating data systems, pipelines, warehouses, and infrastructure.
• Experience with distributed data frameworks and writing/debugging data pipelines.
• Knowledge of backend languages (Scala/Java/Go) and strong SQL.
• Experience leading teams and delivering end-to-end data solutions.

• Lead the technical outcomes for a team of engineers, providing mentorship and guidance.
• Partner with recruiting to attract top talent.
• Deliver data pipelines that scale reliably and efficiently.
• Develop subject matter expertise and manage SLAs of data pipelines and web applications.
• Collaborate with product managers to create canonical datasets and data warehouses.
• Leverage AI/LLM and Agents at scale for data analysis on complex problems.
• Drive execution of key data initiatives from planning to delivery while maintaining quality.
