Job summary

Everyday Electric is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the data platform strategy across North America. You will architect high-throughput streaming pipelines and a lakehouse ecosystem to support analytics, ML, and real-time insights for millions of devices.

You will mentor engineers, define standards, and partner with analytics and applications teams to evolve our data infrastructure using Python, Redshift, Postgres Aurora, AWS/GCP, and IaC tooling. Remote-friendly, highly impactful role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software and data engineering experience with architectural leadership.
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing large-scale streaming architectures with Kinesis, Lambda, Kafka, Flink.
• Expertise in building scalable data lakes (S3, Iceberg, Delta Lake) and telemetry data.
• Proficiency in AWS Redshift and PostgreSQL Aurora; Python and SQL; CI/CD and IaC with Terraform/CDKTF/AWS CDK.
• Strong mentoring, cross-team alignment, and data infra best practices.

Responsibilities

• Define long-term data architecture vision and standards across the ecosystem.
• Lead the design and implementation of fault-tolerant batch and real-time streaming infrastructure.
• Collaborate with application and analytics teams to drive data architecture delivery.
• Direct database architecture and performance tuning across Redshift and PostgreSQL Aurora.
• Set high standards for data pipeline development, monitoring, and uptime; lead on-call operations.
• Mentor senior and mid-level data engineers and promote best practices.
• Evaluate and integrate modern data technologies and frameworks to evolve the system.
