Milliman IntelliScript seeks a Staff Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team. You will be a trusted advisor to leadership and engineering, guiding technical decisions and ensuring data systems scale across hybrid environments with high performance.

You will lead architecture, governance, ETL, and data security initiatives, expanding data warehouses and lakehouse solutions for healthcare data. This role supports API-driven data integrations and cloud-based tooling while collaborating across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data engineering or related field.
• Significant experience with Databricks and AWS.
• Expert knowledge of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, etc.).
• Experience building data models, warehouses, and data lakes for enterprise use cases.
• Experience implementing API-driven data integrations.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert within the Data Platform Domain.
• Lead data processing design, moving, storing, and maintaining high-quality data.
• Lead projects, manage timelines, coordinate teams and report status.
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance with privacy standards.
• Architect and build out data pipelines, ETL, and medallion architectures.
• Develop and maintain APIs and data models for internal systems.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
