Drata is hiring a Staff Data Engineer in San Francisco, hybrid work. You will join a growing data team building at scale for a leading B2B SaaS security/compliance platform. You will own data pipelines, governance, and analytics products, enabling fast decision making and AI-driven insights.

The role emphasizes automation, scalable data models, and collaboration with analytics, product, and engineering teams to drive trust across customers as Drata scales.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience in Change Data Capture (CDC).
• Fluent in analytical SQL; able to write complex queries with little assistance.
• Fluent in Python.
• Experience with Stitch/Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Airbyte, Looker/Mode/Sigma, Hightouch/Census.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain data flows to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience building with AI to production.

Responsibilities

• Automate foundational data workflows and data products to serve analytics, product, engineering, and ML/AI needs.
• Build scalable data models and governance processes.
• Optimize query performance, ingestion, and processing times.
• Collaborate on building the data modeling layer across teams.
• Document data pipelines and provide training for analysts.
