Job summary

GameChanger is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to set technical direction for the data platform, lead multi-team initiatives, and stay hands-on building scalable data systems. You’ll partner with engineering and business teams to anticipate needs, strengthen the platform, and enable AI-assisted development and analytics across the organization.

You will champion AI-driven self-service analytics, improve system performance, and mentor others while contributing to a culture of high-quality

Qualifications

8+ years building data or backend systems.
Expertise in AI-assisted software development.
Expertise in Python for data pipelines and production software.
Proficiency in SQL and cloud data warehousing (Snowflake or BigQuery).
Experience with containers and orchestration (Airflow).
Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform).
Proficiency with K8s/Kafka and streaming data pipelines.
Proficiency with cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure).

Responsibilities

Set multi-quarter technical direction for the data platform with cross-functional teams.
Build relationships and champion adoption with technical and non-technical partners.
Architect and build scalable data platforms for analytic and operational needs.
Lead AI-assisted self-service analytics and development initiatives.
Improve performance, observability, reliability, and scalability of systems.
Document knowledge, review code, mentor, and set new standards.
Participate in on-call rotation and troubleshoot complex issues.
