Job summary

Pattern is seeking a Staff Data Platform Engineer to lead design and implementation of a next‑gen data platform. You will enable partners and global teams to extract insights at unprecedented speed and scale, driving data-led growth across the organization.

You will architect scalable infrastructure, collaborate across Engineering, Data, and Product, and advance AI-driven diagnostics to maintain data availability and platform health. This is a high-impact, globally scoped role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data infrastructure or backend software engineering.
• Strong expertise in cloud environments, containers, and event streaming tech.
• Experience with distributed data processing using Spark, Trino, ClickHouse; Snowflake/Databricks a plus.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Java, Ruby or C++.
• Proactive leadership with collaboration across teams.
• Knowledgeable in system observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable, high-performance data infrastructure for batch and real-time use.
• Design and implement architectural solutions to reduce data access friction.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Data, and Product to align platform with requirements.
• Incorporate security best practices to ensure access compliance across data assets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex distributed data system issues to ensure integrity.
• Architect and implement AI-driven diagnostic systems to identify and resolve data health issues.
