Job summary

Okta is hiring for a Staff Data Analyst in the People Analytics team to design and deliver analytics solutions impacting workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and employee experience.

You will develop advanced predictive models, create scalable dashboards, and apply emerging AI technologies while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization. The role emphasizes data governance, storytelling with data, and executive-ready insights.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in People Analytics, HR Analytics, Workforce Analytics, Data Science, or related analytics
• Advanced proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools, data warehousing platforms, spreadsheet and SQL querying, and enterprise HR platforms
• Experience with Tableau, Snowflake, Excel, SQL, Workday, ServiceNow, Greenhouse is highly preferred
• Strong statistical methods including regression, clustering, forecasting, and text analytics
• Experience applying NLP to analyze employee feedback and derive insights
• Familiarity with Generative AI, NLP, and governance of large datasets

Responsibilities

• Analyze and report on the full employee lifecycle using dashboards and reports on hiring, attrition, engagement, performance, promotions, compensation, headcount, and health
• Partner with People Team and stakeholders to translate questions into analytic approaches, ensure data quality, and deliver executive-ready insights
• Design, build, and maintain predictive analytics models for attrition, forecasting, lifecycle analysis, and talent pipeline analytics
• Apply regression, clustering, forecasting, survival analysis, and segmentation to workforce challenges
• Analyze employee feedback from surveys and interviews using NLP and text analytics for themes and insights
• Prototype Generative AI use cases to automate narratives and summarize trends while ensuring governance and privacy
