Job summary

Sidecar Health is seeking a Staff Data Analytics Engineer to design data models, build pipelines, and define reliable metrics in a Snowflake-first stack. You'll partner with Product and Engineering, validate AI-generated outputs, and ensure HIPAA-compliant data practices in a regulated healthcare setting.

This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director, Business Analytics. It is remote but candidates must be based in California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, or Texas.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of analytics or data engineering experience
• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience
• Strong SQL and dbt skills with incremental models and testing
• Hands-on Snowflake experience with semantic modeling
• Commitment to data quality with tests and monitoring
• Experience working with product teams to define metrics
• Fluency with AI coding tools like Claude and validating AI outputs
• Comfort in regulated environments with privacy/compliance requirements
• Ownership end-to-end from raw data to trusted metrics
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical partners

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dbt models and semantic models in Snowflake for product metrics
• Build pipelines behind models from ingestion to transformation with shared infra standards
• Create AI-ready data: semantic models, metric definitions, and documentation
• Guide data design decisions with Product and Engineering to measure results from day one
• Partner with product managers to turn roadmap goals into measurable metrics
• Identify data gaps and drive resolution with Product and Engineering
• Provide analysis to inform product decisions and evaluate feature performance
• Use AI coding tools and Snowflake Cortex to speed up development and validate outputs
• Ensure HIPAA considerations and access controls are built into designs
• Review SQL, dbt, and AI-generated code for correctness and raise standards
• Document models, metrics, and design decisions for future reuse
