At Vercel, our mission is to enable the world to ship the best products and that goes hand in hand with creating an environment where you can do the best work of your life.

About the Role:

As a Staff Data Analyst at Vercel, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive key business decisions and product strategies. You'll collaborate across teams, working closely with product managers, engineers, and leadership to translate complex data into meaningful narratives and self-service tools that improve operational efficiency and drive growth.

Your work will influence the company’s strategic direction by uncovering deep insights from Vercel’s proprietary data and modeling new datasets to optimize our products' growth and reduce costs.

Working within a data-driven organization, you will prototype new analytical solutions, continuously improve workflows, and identify opportunities for innovation. Whether you’re developing key metrics, improving data access through analytical technologies, or identifying new analytical partnerships, you will ensure that Vercel’s teams have the data they need, when they need it, to succeed.

  3. Identify and Address Opportunities: You will proactively uncover areas for improvement, such as streamlining reporting automation, conducting deep-dive analyses to address critical business questions, and establishing new analytical partnerships to unlock further growth.
  4. Collaborate with Stakeholders: You will engage with product, business, and leadership teams to understand their goals, translating their needs into data-driven solutions that provide clarity and drive decision-making.
  5. Build Product Analytics Models: You will design and implement new analytics datasets using proprietary Vercel data to optimize growth strategies, reduce costs, and increase the impact of our product development efforts.
  6. Prototype and Innovate: You will rapidly prototype and iterate on dashboards and data tools to support workflow optimization across the product organization, discovering and promoting best practices for data usage and efficiency.
  7. Support Data Accessibility: You will develop and maintain the analytical technologies that empower all teams at Vercel to have timely, structured, and flexible access to the data they need, driving agility across the organization.
  8. Influence the Data Roadmap: You will shape the analytics roadmap by working closely with both the Data Analytics department and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment between analytics efforts and broader company goals.
About You:
  • You have 6+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Product Analyst, Operations Analyst, Business Analyst, or a similar role
  • You’re a SQL pro – and have tech industry experience analyzing nuanced datasets and writing your own complex queries
  • You have professional familiarity with applied statistics and scripting languages like Python or R
  • You have deep experience with ELT data modeling, especially with dbt; and building analytical narratives using modern BI tools like Hashboard, Looker, and Omni
  • You have very strong executive communication skills and empathy to understand and discover business pain points and build solutions
