Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to define and drive connectivity platform architecture across GM vehicle lines. This role requires end-to-end ownership with collaboration across hardware, firmware, RF and software teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in hardware development, strong system-architecture knowledge, and a track record leading cross-functional programs. The role is hybrid, with reporting to Warren, MI or Sunnyvale, CA at least three days per

Qualifications

• 8+ years in hardware development with system-architecture focus.
• Deep expertise in SoC-based design, power, clocks, and boot flows.
• Experience with high-speed design and SI/PI considerations.

Responsibilities

• Define and own system architecture for connectivity platforms.
• Guide schematic design and PCB layout for SI/PI and RF coexistence.
• Lead validation strategies and root-cause analysis for complex systems.
• Collaborate with silicon vendors and firmware/software teams.
• Mentor engineers and drive engineering quality and reviews.
