Job summary

General Motors seeks a Staff Technical Specialist- GNSS Hardware to lead GNSS hardware definition, design, and validation across automotive platforms. You will own GNSS requirements, collaborate with product and RF teams, and guide supplier choices to deliver robust, automotive-grade GNSS solutions.

You will also develop test plans, review RF/antenna interfaces, and drive vehicle-level GNSS performance metrics from concept to validation, ensuring resilience in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in GNSS and/or RF hardware design, integration or validation.
• Strong GNSS systems knowledge across GPS/GLONASS/Galileo/BeiDou/QZSS/SBAS.
• Ability to translate system requirements into hardware specs.
• Hands-on RF test equipment experience (spectrum/network analyzers, GNSS simulators).
• Experience reviewing RF/GNSS schematic and PCB layouts.
• Working knowledge of RF theory.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end GNSS hardware and system requirements for connectivity modules.
• Translate product requirements into testable GNSS performance specs (sensitivity, accuracy, TTFF, jamming resilience).
• Own GNSS sections of hardware requirements, guidelines, and interface specs.
• Collaborate with Product, Systems, RF, and Validation teams on GNSS targets.
• Lead supplier evaluation and alignment with product strategy.
• Develop schematics and review PCB layouts for GNSS sections; advise antenna interfaces.
