Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer focused on Connectivity Modules to advance automotive connectivity systems. This hybrid role allows Warren, MI or Sunnyvale, CA work locations with three days on-site per week.

You will develop validation plans for hardware components, collaborate across mechanical, PCB, PM, and RF teams, and utilize oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers to test and validate performance. Strong bias toward data-driven improvements is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on validation experience with embedded and connectivity systems, preferably automotive or consumer electronics.
• Experience validating high-performance computer systems and high-speed digital interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed validation plans for hardware components and systems supporting Connectivity technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical designers, PCB layout, product managers, and RF/Wireless engineers.
• Utilize lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers for testing and validation.
• Analyze and interpret data from validation tests, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
• Validate power delivery and stability under various operating conditions.
• Work with silicon vendors to align on SoC bring-up and interface characteristics.
• Create test reports and validation metrics, recommending corrective actions based on test results.
