Job summary

Headway is building a new mental healthcare system where clinicians deploy Headway's platform to practice securely and efficiently. This role leads the cloud platform used by every engineer, focusing on autoscaling, isolation, and self-serve infrastructure.

You will own the compute, networking, and deployment stack, drive architectural decisions, and mentor teams to raise the infrastructure bar across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform, infrastructure, or SRE with production traffic.
• Deep AWS compute and networking ownership at scale.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform).
• Hands-on autoscaling and container orchestration (ECS/EKS).
• Track record making deploys safe and self-serve for teams.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment architecture and blast-radius containment.
• Own ECS/EKS footprint and inter-service networking design.
• Manage capacity and scaling with data-driven guardrails.
• Build a self-serve Terraform platform with guardrails.
• Establish per-team cost attribution and visibility.
• Own Python runtime health and framework upgrades.
