Job summary

BeyondTrust is seeking a Senior Staff Software Development Engineer to set the technical direction for the NHI Governance domain within our Pathfinder products.

As one of the most senior engineers, you will own architecture across the domain and its integration with our shared platform substrates, drive our hardest technical bets, and establish the standards, interfaces, and patterns that other teams build on.

Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems.
• Strong expertise in C#, Go, TypeScript, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience with Claude Code or AI-assisted coding tools.
• Proven track record owning architecture across multiple teams or domains.
• Hands-on AWS expertise: EKS, IAM, data stores, scaling, reliability.

Responsibilities

• Set and drive technical direction and architecture across the NHI Governance domain and its integration with shared platform services.
• Own the most complex, high-risk, cross-cutting initiatives end to end.
• Define standards, interfaces, and contracts used by multiple teams.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leaders to align strategy with business goals.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers to raise the technical bar.
• Lead design reviews and key build/buy decisions.
• Drive quality, security, observability, and performance across the domain.
• Resolve ambiguity and frame the right problems.
