Taxbit is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to own the cloud infra powering its platform from Seattle. You’ll shape AWS architecture, automate delivery, and drive secure, scalable systems for customers and teams. You’ll lead AI Ops/DevOps practices and partner with engineering, security, and compliance to raise reliability and velocity.

The role emphasizes infrastructure as code, CI/CD, monitoring, and guardrails, with a hybrid remote policy and a Seattle office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Hands-on AWS cloud infrastructure experience.
• Strong Python and TypeScript skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, GitHub, and Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK preferred).
• Experience designing backup strategy and disaster recovery for cloud systems.
• Experience with logging and monitoring/observability solutions.
• Security-minded with guardrails in engineering workflows.
• Familiarity with Linear/Jira and Databricks.
• Knowledge of AI governance and security risks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure, highly available AWS infrastructure.
• Own infrastructure-as-code using AWS CDK or Terraform.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Define backup and disaster recovery strategies across cloud data stores.
• Architect data storage and processing for scalability and cost efficiency.
• Implement centralized logging, monitoring, and observability.
• Maintain security guardrails across the development lifecycle.
• Automate workflows to reduce toil in provisioning and deployments.
• Debug complex issues across distributed systems and drive fixes.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance using GitHub/Jira/Databricks.
