Job summary
Taxbit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Systems, Security & Compliance organization and take ownership of the cloud infrastructure powering our platform. You will lead AWS architecture, automation, and operational excellence of systems that our customers rely on.
You will influence AI Ops/AI DevOps practices, deploy, monitor, and secure AI-enabled pipelines, and partner with engineering, security, and compliance teams to raise reliability and velocity across Taxbit.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc. minimum) in Computer Science or a related field
- Significant experience in systems/infrastructure engineering with deep AWS expertise
- Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or an equivalent language
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, GitHub and Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK preferred, Terraform acceptable)
- Experience in backup strategy, data architecture, and disaster recovery for cloud systems
- Experience with logging/monitoring/observability solutions
- Security-minded with guardrails in engineering workflows
- Familiarity with Linear/Jira and Databricks
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks (ISO 42001) and AI security risks
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate secure, highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Own infrastructure-as-code with AWS CDK or Terraform
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for safe deployments
- Define and implement backup and disaster recovery strategy
- Architect data storage and processing for scalability and cost efficiency
- Implement centralized logging, monitoring, and observability
- Maintain security guardrails across development lifecycle
- Build automation to reduce manual toil in provisioning and deployments
- Debug complex issues across distributed systems and drive durable fixes
- Implement AI Ops/AI DevOps for AI-enabled systems and pipelines
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance using GitHub/Linear/Jira and Databricks
