Job summary

Taxbit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join Systems, Security & Compliance and own the cloud infrastructure powering our platform. You will lead AWS-based architecture, automation, and secure operations, shaping AI-enabled deployment and governance.

You will collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance teams to raise reliability, velocity, and security across Taxbit's global platform, while mentoring peers and driving best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.Sc. minimum) in Computer Science or a related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
• Experience with CI/CD, GitHub, and Infrastructure-as-Code (CDK preferred).
• Experience designing backup strategies and disaster recovery for cloud systems.
• Experience logging, monitoring, and observability solutions.
• Security-minded with security guardrails in engineering workflows.
• Experience with workflow automation and debugging distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Linear/Jira and Databricks.
• Familiarity with AI governance practices and AI security risks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure, highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Own infrastructure-as-code using AWS CDK (preferred) or Terraform.
• Build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines to enable safe, frequent, and reliable deployments.
• Define and implement backup and disaster recovery strategy across cloud data stores and critical systems.
• Architect and evolve data storage and processing patterns that support scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement and maintain centralized logging, monitoring, and observability across services and infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain security guardrails integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
• Build workflow automation that reduces manual toil in infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and operations.
• Debug and resolve complex issues across distributed, cloud-native systems, driving root-cause analysis and durable fixes.
• Implement AI Ops/AI DevOps practices to deploy, monitor, and operate AI-enabled systems and pipelines in production.
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, security, and compliance teams using tools such as GitHub, Linear/Jira, and Databricks.
