Job summary

Johnson & Johnson’s Orthopaedics team is seeking a Staff Clinical Engineer to drive early-stage ideas into clinically relevant devices and features for robotic and navigation solutions. Based in Boston or Raynham with a minimum in-office presence of three days per week, you will couple clinical insights with engineering rigor to deliver safe, effective products across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Robotics Engineering or related technical discipline; Master’s or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute clinical and technical expertise to ideation and early-stage evaluation of novel design concepts.
• Support feasibility assessment and prototype development aligned with clinical needs and regulatory pathways.
• Lead clinical hazard analyses and risk maps to inform project scope and timelines.
• Collaborate with quality, systems and human factors engineering throughout the design process.
• Provide on-site support during initial product commercialization and escalation of critical performance product complaints.
