Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Kansas City, MO. This role focuses on planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.

You will gain experience in site/civil design for mixed-use developments, shopping centers, residential, higher education, federal, and other land development projects, using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• EIT or FE certification/registration required.
• GPA minimum 3.0.
• Internship or professional experience in site/civil design including site planning, grading, stormwater, drainage.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday with occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design and permitting of civil and land development projects.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and topography and their impact on planning and design.
• Recommend new approaches to improve efficiency and services.
• Apply engineering knowledge and advanced mathematics.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks.
• Perform other duties as requested.
