Job summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Staff Civil Engineer to join its collaborative Kansas City team. You will contribute to planning, design, and permitting of civil, land development, and infrastructure projects, with opportunities to work on mixed‑use developments, shopping centers, residential, and higher education projects.

The role emphasizes site/civil engineering design, technical problem solving, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification; PE preferred.
• 3+ years of site/civil design experience including site planning, grading, stormwater, drainage, and soil erosion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment.
• Use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects.
• Familiarity with current local, state, and federal land use permitting is a plus.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other job duties as requested.
