Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a Staff Characterization Chemist to own and develop advanced characterization methods for our iron-air battery program. You will collaborate with engineering to address key questions, develop, validate, and maintain methods, and ensure rapid, high-quality data delivery.

Relocation assistance is offered as we scale manufacturing nationwide. This role reports to the characterization team and works closely with technicians to optimize daily measurements and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and significant related experience (7–10 years), or advanced degrees with experience.
• Expertise in ICP-OES and/or MS, titration, wet chemistry, and spectroscopy.
• Ability to define and solve complex problems with limited data.
• Ability to work across teams in a service-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to identify big questions and apply characterization to answer them.
• Own and maintain characterization services related to wet chemistry, ICP-OES/MS, and spectroscopy.
• Manage workflows with technicians and coordinate instrument maintenance with vendors.
• Serve as technical leader and ambassador across characterization teams.
