Job summary

Lumentum Operations LLC in San Jose, CA seeks a Staff Backend and Test Engineer (P60) to support UHP and HPL laser backend assembly, test, and AOI across production ramp and sustained yields. You’ll analyze data, identify root causes, and drive cost reductions in fabrication and final test.

The role partners with R&D and Product Engineering to rapidly address field failures, optimize processes, and ensure quality across global manufacturing networks.

Qualifications

• Statistical data analysis and correlation to identify yield trends.
• Troubleshooting root causes for yield excursions in Fab with test data.
• Drive yield improvement and cost reduction post production ramp.

Responsibilities

• Bring up UHP and HPL laser assembly, test and AOI equipment to support production and ramp.
• Perform statistical data analysis, correlation and troubleshoot potential root causes for yield excursions.
• Run process vs product parameter correlation to understand margins and drive improvement.
• Early detection of Fab excursion with test data before sending to assembly site.
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Engineering and CM to provide fast responses to field failures.
