Job summary

Jobtailor is partnering with SignalFire’s Talent Network to identify Staff Backend Engineers for VC-backed startups. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining high-performance backend services and scalable APIs in modern cloud environments.

You will optimize databases and infrastructure, adopt DevOps best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backend strategy with business goals, ensuring secure, fault-tolerant systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience building scalable systems.
• Expertise in Node.js, Django, Flask, Ruby on Rails, FastAPI and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB and Redis.
• Proficiency with AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Go, Java, Node.js or Ruby.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Interest or experience in building scalable distributed backend architectures and APIs.
