Kake is a remote-first company seeking an experienced Staff Backend Engineer to design and build enterprise-grade backends using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript. The role focuses on modular APIs, scalable architectures, and high performance, with collaboration across frontend teams to deliver seamless integrations.

Ideal candidates will have deep API experience, strong TypeScript skills, and a track record of maintaining NX monorepos.

Qualifications

• Deep experience building high-performance APIs with Node.js and NestJS.
• Strong TypeScript knowledge including generics and decorators.
• Experience designing scalable modular backend systems for performance and caching.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs using Node.js and NestJS.
• Architect scalable backend systems with a focus on performance optimization and caching.
• Build and maintain NX monorepos including shared libraries and complex build configurations.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to create efficient, well-integrated API interfaces.
• Apply OO design principles and architectural patterns to complex engineering challenges.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions and maintainability of backend solutions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Continuously improve backend performance, reliability, and development workflows.
