Job summary

TeamSnap is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Backend, to join our fully distributed engineering team and help scale services used by millions of daily users and thousands of sports teams. Our backend stack includes Node and TypeScript, plus Elixir, SQL, cloud services, queues, and caching.

You will architect, build, and operate durable backend systems with reliability and performance in mind. We offer equitable compensation with a minimum starting point of $200,000 total, a remote-first

Qualifications

• Extensive backend experience with scalable systems.
• Strong knowledge of Node.js/TypeScript and Elixir.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL) and caching.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve backend APIs, services, and data models.
• Own complex backend work from discovery to rollout and support.
• Lead technical initiatives and drive clear execution with tradeoffs.
• Provide Node ecosystem leadership and promote best practices.
• Collaborate across Product, Design, Infrastructure, Data, and Support.
