Unity is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to lead the Offer Delivery backend, owning how offers are selected in real-time bidding and direct placements. You will shape the architecture and drive delivery at scale, collaborating with ML, platform, and product teams.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, high-scale distributed systems, and mentoring engineers to uphold code quality and robust design across services.

Qualifications

• Experience owning a backend system and delivering through others.
• Design and ship large-scale, latency-sensitive services.
• Proficiency in Go or Java and familiarity with gRPC.
• Hands-on experience with observability, metrics, monitoring, and tracing.
• Ability to design stable data flows amid changing requirements.
• Experience influencing engineers across teams.

Responsabilités

• Architect and design the Offer Delivery architecture and critical initiatives.
• Build, test, and ship Go and Java services for real-time bidding and direct placements.
• Collaborate with ML to productionize ranking improvements and experiments.
• Lead across teams to align decisions and drive delivery.
• Ensure high availability and reliability of production services, including on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards through code and design quality.
