Job summary

Fetch is building the next generation of advertising systems and is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to design and evolve high‑throughput, low‑latency services. You will own critical Ads services, shape architectural standards across teams, and drive multi‑quarter initiatives that influence the Ads organization and related platforms.

You will mentor engineers, lead significant system health work, and partner with Ads, Platform, Data, and ML to ensure scalable, reliable foundations.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing, building, and operating distributed backend systems at production scale.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts: partitioning, replication, consistency, caching, concurrency.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture across critical Ads services and backend components.
• Design for reliability, monitoring, and operational excellence with clear SLOs and observability.
• Evolve data flows across stores, streaming, and messaging to balance latency and durability.
• Lead refactoring and build shared infrastructure to improve velocity and reliability.
• Collaborate with Ads, Platform, Data, and ML to align product direction across teams.
