Job summary

Unity is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead Offer Delivery, defining the technical vision for the service, architecture, and roadmap. You will influence targeting, pacing, and supply-side rules on the serving path, coordinating with auction, ML, platform, and product teams to build the next generation of monetization technology.

You will mentor engineers, design robust Go services powering real-time bidding (OpenRTB) and direct placements, and ensure high availability in a globally

Qualifications

• Proven backend owner of a significant system and ability to drive architecture decisions.
• Experience designing large-scale, latency-sensitive distributed services with complex logic.
• Strong backend development with Go (or quickly becoming proficient).
• Working knowledge of gRPC and choosing best tool for the job.
• Hands-on with observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and data streams.
• Ability to design resilient systems amid changing requirements.
• Experience driving work across teams and mentoring engineers.
• Preferred: DSP/ad exchange/background in real-time bidding systems (OpenRTB).
• Understanding supply-side mediation concepts and ad serving mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the design for Offer Delivery services and initiatives.
• Develop and operate Go services powering real-time bidding and direct offer placement.
• Mentor engineers and set engineering standards across the team.
• Coordinate with product, Ad Viewer, and other teams in a distributed environment.
• Maintain high availability and reliability, including on-call rotations.
