Machinify is hiring Staff and Senior Backend Engineers to lead backend development for Pay and Audit products. You will set technical direction, design scalable web services, and collaborate with AI coding agents to deliver reliable systems that impact millions of lives.

You will work with a team solving complex healthcare problems, balancing customer features with technical excellence, and influencing product direction with strong engineering judgment.

Qualifications

10+ years of backend experience with Java, Scala, or Rust.
Experience designing and shipping customer-facing web applications and scalable distributed systems.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership.

Responsibilities

Deepen understanding of healthcare claims and payments domain.
Coach and mentor developers, set standards, raise programming maturity.
Architect and implement scalable, secure applications integrating ML techniques.
Collaborate across teams to ensure extensible, high-performance systems.
Balance feature delivery with technical debt cleanup.
