Job summary

Machinify is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for the Audit product team. You will set technical direction for backend development, design scalable systems, and guide AI coding agents to deliver high-quality software.

The role emphasizes a strong engineering culture, cross-functional collaboration, and ownership across a growing, AI-driven healthcare platform with nationwide remote work options.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend experience across building production-grade services.
• Strong experience in Java or Scala; Rust is a plus.
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems on cloud services.
• Ability to write Technical Design Documents translating product intent into backend design.
• Product- and user-driven mindset with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for backend development and system architecture.
• Design, build, and scale web application services with reliability.
• Review and guide the output of AI coding agents used in delivery.
• Drive adoption of new languages, tools, and agentic development practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, ML/DS partners, and leadership.
