ID.me is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Wallet - Authentication team, which builds core sign-in, registration, and account management experiences used by millions. You will contribute to architecture, data models, and APIs behind sign-in, MFA, and account recovery, and own defined portions of the authentication platform end-to-end.

The ideal candidate brings deep backend and API expertise, secure design instincts, and the ability to translate requirements into reliable services.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Ability to lead complex, cross-team technical initiatives with minimal oversight.
• Expert-level proficiency in a modern backend language (Java, Kotlin, Go, or Scala).
• Experience designing, documenting, and evolving REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong relational DB and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Solid knowledge of secure system design including authentication and tokens.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling.
• Strong collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Anchor backend and API design for sign-in, registration, MFA, account recovery, and MyWallet.
• Own API contracts and reliability for internal teams and downstream parties.
• Evolve real-time risk engine integration across authentication flows.
• Design scalable data models for credentials, sessions, and account state.
• Mentor engineers and set coding standards, CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Security to deliver cohesive auth experiences.
• Champion AI-forward engineering practices across the team.
