Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance with AI-driven claims platforms. We’re seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to define and scale core systems powering our B2B SaaS platform.

You will lead backend architecture across APIs, distributed services, data models, and platform infrastructure, while embracing AI-native engineering. You’ll apply AI tooling to accelerate development, improve reliability, and enhance observability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend or SaaS/distributed systems.
• Proven ability to scale and operate complex backend systems.
• Experience with AI-enabled development workflows.
• Strong collaboration across product, infra, and data teams.
• Proactive, security-conscious and reliable.

Responsabilités

• Own major areas of backend architecture including APIs, distributed systems, data models, infrastructure, and core business logic.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools daily to accelerate development, debugging, testing, documentation, and operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to integrate AI into internal systems and customer-facing platform capabilities.
• Design, build, test, deploy, and iterate on production systems end-to-end with focus on reliability and scalability.
• Architect systems capable of supporting increasing scale, complexity, and evolving customer workflows.
• Define and implement modern testing, observability, and operational practices that improve resilience and velocity.
• Build scalable abstractions, internal frameworks, and platform capabilities for faster product development.
• Drive technical direction and long-term architectural decisions around performance, security, and scalability.
• Mentor engineers across the organization to raise the technical bar for backend engineering and system design.
