Lightfield is seeking a senior Backend Software Engineer to build the AI-native CRM’s core data layer and APIs from the ground up. You’ll define data models, permission boundaries, and durable services that scale with multi-tenant usage.

You’ll work across Postgres, Node.js, and distributed systems to deliver observable, fast and reliable backend capabilities. The role is located in San Francisco or Cambridge, with significant impact on product architecture and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in systems design and reliability.
• Experience owning large product-facing backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Own core backend capabilities end-to-end from requirements to rollout.
• Design data models, APIs, migrations, and scaling strategies.
• Build fast, observable services with robust authorization and metering.
