Job summary

Cube seeks a Staff Back-End Engineer to steer architectural patterns and engineering standards across the team. You’ll shape distributed systems, ownership of multi-tenant databases, and scalable backend workflows in a high-growth environment.

You will lead with strategic vision, collaborate with product and customer success, and elevate system reliability while modernizing workflows with AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• Seasoned software engineer with 10+ years’ experience and strong leadership.
• Clear opinions on distributed systems and long-term architecture.
• Deep knowledge of Django internals and performance optimization.
• Experience building multi-tenant, scalable backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural direction and establish golden patterns across teams.
• Own core backend systems including multi-tenant routing and async pipelines.
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted development practices in production.
