Cube is the financial intelligence platform built for the AI era. We’re seeking a Staff Back-End Engineer to serve as a technical North Star, shaping architectural patterns, infrastructure standards, and engineering habits that scale.

You’ll partner with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to transform ambiguous business needs into robust distributed systems powering financial workflows in New York. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you’ll own complex initiatives end-to-end—from

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering for large-scale backend systems.
• Ability to design multi-tenant architectures and async pipelines.
• Strong communication of trade-offs to execs and partners.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural direction and establish patterns used across teams.
• Own core backend systems including multi-tenant routing and orchestration.
• Modernize workflows with AI-assisted development and LLM agents.
• Ship initiatives end-to-end from infrastructure to monitoring and docs.
• Foster observability with structured logging, metrics, and debugging practices.
• Lead during incidents with root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.
• Mentor engineers and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Scale CI/CD, testing, and deployment processes for speed and reliability.
