Job summary

Experian is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead high-throughput, large-scale transactional systems and agentic AI projects. You will anchor technical direction across squads, set code quality and cloud standards, and mentor engineers. You will report to the Sr. Principal Engineer.

You will design and own services across AWS, drive performance optimization, governance, and ADRs, while leading PoC work and on-call reliability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in senior/principal leadership.
• 4+ years building/operating production services on AWS across compute/storage/messaging/networks.
• 2+ years Python development with asyncio/FastAPI; 2+ years Go in production.
• Experience designing large-scale transactional systems and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on with agentic AI systems, orchestration, tool calls, and LLM integration.
• Proficiency with relational/non-relational DBs and performance tuning.
• Experience with containers and IaC tools; strong CI/CD/e2E observability.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and own services for large-scale transactional platforms.
• Lead end-to-end design of agentic AI workflows on AWS.
• Write production-grade Python and Go services with strong performance baselines.
• Govern AWS infrastructure aligning with Well-Architected framework.
• Establish coding standards, testing, CI/CD, and observability practices.
• Lead architecture reviews and produce ADRs and technical specs.
• Resolve performance bottlenecks and optimize queries and caches.
• Mentor engineers and drive improvements in engineering culture.
