Job summary

Williams is seeking a Technical Specialist Staff - Automation in Houston to lead automation initiatives for complex compression and process control systems. You will present technical findings, mentor teams and drive improvements across enterprise automation platforms.

The role requires deep PLC/HMI experience, strong safety focus, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver major projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong organizational/interpersonal skills with safety as priority.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of enterprise automation systems and software such as AssetCentre.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical expertise in automation for specialty, geographic area, or operational function.
• Makes decisions and resolves unique issues within the broader function, company and industry standard methodologies.
• Applies specialized knowledge in the efficient and effective completion of major projects while coordinating and controlling costs and resources.
• Prepares and delivers presentations.
• Maintains a strong understanding of industry and operational requirements.
• Interprets and anticipates internal and external business challenges and customer needs; improves products, processes or services and identifies solutions.
• Collaborates with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs.
• Serves as content lead and custodian for operations and maintenance requirements, guidelines and variance requests.
• Supports technical security initiatives and hardware refreshes.
• Supports approved manufacturer list for enterprise.
• Other duties as assigned.
