Job summary

Williams is seeking a controls-focused Technical Specialist to maintain and optimize Distributed Control Systems, PLCs, and HMIs for our large horsepower and power distribution installations. You will troubleshoot, tune, and optimize control loops and instrumentation while supporting SCADA platforms and real-time data systems.

You will collaborate with engineers and operations to elevate system controls, participate in commissioning and upgrades, review documentation, and lead or support

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in instrumentation, electrical, or automation tech.
• Minimum 6 years in oil & gas or industrial automation.
• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of control systems, instrumentation, and networks.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain DCS, PLCs, and HMIs for reliable performance.
• Troubleshoot and optimize control loops and automation networks.
• Support SCADA integration and real-time data systems for decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to improve controls.
• Participate in commissioning, startup, and upgrades of control systems.
• Review schematics and designs focusing on controls architecture.
• Lead or support automation projects and training initiatives.
• Maintain records and compliance documentation for controls.
• Perform other duties with a focus on controls excellence.
