Job summary

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center seeks a Staff Attorney for a full-time role focused on immigration enforcement work at the local and state level in California. The position is based in San Francisco with consideration for Southern California and a hybrid schedule requiring two in-office days per week.

The role supports policy advocacy, coalition work, legal technical assistance, trainings, and written resources related to immigration enforcement and criminal-immigration intersections.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience as an attorney in immigration law.
• Bar membership in good standing (any U.S. state or DC).
• Excellent writing, editing, legal analysis, and oral presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel within California and across the United States.
• Commitment to immigrant rights and abolitionist values.

Responsibilities

• Represent ILRC in local and statewide enforcement coalitions.
• Support California decarceration campaigns.
• Provide strategy techical assistance to local campaigns at intersection of criminal and immigration law.
• Interface with media and support media campaign strategy.
• Travel for trainings, meetings, and events in California and beyond.
