Amperesand, Inc. is seeking a Staff or Sr. Staff Applications Engineer, Grid Integration, to lead interconnection activities for customer projects.

You will be the main technical liaison with utilities, EPCs, and customers, validating EMT models and developing reference architectures using PSCAD and PSSE. You’ll collaborate with Product and Controls teams to ensure models meet ride-through and grid-code requirements, and you’ll travel to sites as needed to guide deployments and ensure success

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency with PSCAD and PSSE (and/or comparable EMT/phasor-domain tools).
• Experience with MW-scale power electronics and MV electrical infrastructure design.
• Experience with grid interconnection processes for utility-scale generation or storage assets.
• Familiarity with interconnection standards and grid codes (IEEE 1547, NERC, regional requirements) and policy tracking.
• Strong communication skills and ability to travel to customer/project sites.

Mansioni

• Act as the primary technical authority on grid integration, interfacing with Utilities, EPCs, and customers.
• Validate PSCAD and PSSE models, ensuring EMT models align with system architectures.
• Develop and optimize reference architectures for Amperesand customers.
• Create and maintain a technical package including documentation and models for customers and utilities.
• Engage with national labs and researchers to analyze utility sector needs and trends.
• Track policy changes and translate into technical guidance with product teams.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Compliance to land projects and ensure deployment excellence.
• Occasional on-site deployment oversight to ensure successful integration.
