Hybrid.This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan or Mountain View, CA three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
As a Staff Antenna Simulation and Design Engineer at GM, you will architect the future of high-fidelity, vehicle-level simulation by designing and leading the strategic roadmap that transforms how RF systems are simulated, tested, and validated. You will serve as the technical cornerstone and mentor for a specialized team of virtualization engineers—setting standards, driving technical excellence, and fostering innovation. Your role includes engineering breakthrough antenna methodologies and advanced receiver/exciter architectures, while defining and cascading virtual requirements across complex hardware domains. From RF front ends to component integration, you will plan and perform subsystem analysis, modeling, testing, and validation to ensure seamless performance. With a relentless focus on innovation, you’ll continuously refine simulation methods and toolchains to stay ahead of evolving technologies, platforms, and product strategies.
What You'll Do
Architect and lead the strategic roadmap for high-fidelity, vehicle-level RF system simulation, testing, and validation.
Serve as a technical leader and mentor to a team of virtualization engineers, setting engineering standards and fostering a culture of innovation.
Design and implement advanced antenna methodologies and novel receiver/exciter architectures.
Define, cascade, and align virtual simulation requirements across diverse and complex hardware domains.
Plan, execute, and analyze RF subsystem modeling, testing, and validation, from RF front ends through to digital integration.
Drive continuous improvement of RF simulation methods, tools, and workflows to remain ahead of emerging technologies and product strategies.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration and performance of RF systems across the vehicle platform.
Manage budgets and planning for both outsourced efforts and in-house vehicle-level simulations.
