Job summary

Grow Therapy is seeking a Staff Android Engineer to define the technical direction of our native Android app from day one, balancing quality with velocity. You will own architecture, tooling, CI/CD, testing strategies, production releases, and security practices, working with the iOS and backend teams, product, and design partners.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, native Android development with Kotlin.
• Led technical direction for an Android app or platform, from early stages or major re-architecture.
• Depth in modern Android: Jetpack Compose, Kotlin coroutines/Flow, DI, modularization, Gradle, testing.
• Strong product instincts, ability to partner with product/design and translate decisions to users’ experience.
• Experience using AI development tools as part of building mobile apps, with discernment on where they help.

Responsibilities

• Design the architecture and technical foundations for Grow's native Android app, including project structure, state management, build, testing, and release infrastructure.
• Ship consumer-facing features on the Android foundation to help clients discover care and manage their care journey.
• Set coding standards, tooling, and engineering practices for Android as the team grows.
• Own the path to production: CI/CD, Google Play release management, observability, and quality/security practices for the healthcare app.
• Collaborate with product, design, iOS, and backend teams to align technical decisions with product goals.
• Drive cross-functional decisions and represent Android roadmap to stakeholders.
