Job summary

Polymarket is seeking a Staff Android Engineer to lead the Android platform for a high-scale trading app. You will shape the technical direction, own critical features from payments to real-time data, and raise the bar across the codebase.

You will work with a distributed team, drive architecture decisions, and actively apply AI tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality. The role includes ownership of CI/CD, Gradle, and performance-focused UI built with Jetpack Compose.

Qualifications

• Significant Android engineering experience with ownership at scale.
• Strong Kotlin expertise with concrete architectural decision-making.
• Deep experience building production UI with Jetpack Compose focused on performance.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and Gradle build configuration end-to-end.
• Proven track record of technical leadership shaping how an engineering team works.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for Android at Polymarket and own architectural decisions.
• Build and own Android features spanning payments, real-time data, and core UI with end-to-end accountability.
• Implement polished, performant interfaces with Jetpack Compose under real trading conditions.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and Gradle configuration to keep builds fast and releases reliable.
• Build and maintain integrations across WebSockets, gRPC, and streaming data for live markets.
• Lead across a distributed team with clear communication and strong engineering standards.
• Incorporate AI tools into development workflow to move faster while maintaining quality.
• Identify and address gaps in Android architecture before scale-driven problems arise.
