Docker, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the AI Developer Tools and self-service platform at scale. You will architect AI-powered tooling, define LLM integration patterns, and drive secure, scalable solutions across a remote-first organization.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers and data scientists, and establish best practices for deployment, observability, and security in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in software development, with a strong background in building scalable, distributed systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML frameworks, including experience with large language models and AI model deployment.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to design innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable architecture for AI developer tools and self-service platforms.
• Establish best practices and design patterns for integrating large language models and other AI technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Implement deployment, observability, and security standards to ensure reliable and secure AI tooling.
• Drive cross-team initiatives to improve platform capabilities, performance, and user experience.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML and incorporate relevant innovations into the platform.
