Job summary

Coupang, Inc. is seeking a Staff AI Security Governance Engineer to join the AI GRC team, bridging regulatory requirements and technical security architecture for enterprise AI programs. This role defines and maintains the AI security risk framework and translates mandates into policy-as-code specifications.

You will collaborate with AI/ML engineers, Legal, and Privacy to set standards, monitor controls, and ensure governance across deployments, data, and cross-border considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in Information Security, Technical GRC, Security Architecture, or AI/Cloud Governance.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML security risks, cloud security architecture (AWS), and privacy/data protection principles.
• Strong ability to translate policy requirements into technical specs.
• Proven track record of architecting governance frameworks (NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, NIST CSF, PIPA).
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Framework Architecture & Policy-as-Code Strategy: design and maintain Coupang’s AI Security & Risk Management Framework.
• Assurance Partnering: define control criteria for the Control Assurance team to execute and audit.
• AI Risk Evaluation & Safeguards: set mitigation standards for AI threat vectors across internal and third-party AI deployments.
• Cross-Functional Engineering Alignment: embed governance into AI architectures, CI/CD, and runtimes.
• Enterprise AI Policy Ownership: manage policy lifecycle, data privacy guardrails, and cross-border data transfer requirements.
