Job summary

Affirm is seeking a skilled Security Engineer to join the InfoSec team, focusing on AI/LLM systems. You will lead end-to-end security reviews, evaluate architecture, data flows, and permissions, and implement robust guardrails to mitigate AI-specific risks.

Collaborating with Security, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, IT, and Engineering, you will develop scalable security processes for safe AI adoption while enabling innovation in fintech services.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience designing security architectures for AI/LLM systems
• Deep understanding of enterprise security controls and processes
• Proven threat modeling and security review experience for AI/LLM apps
• Experience securing agentic systems, tool-calling frameworks, and IAM models
• Proficiency building AI governance artifacts (policies, data standards, vendor risk)
• Experience evaluating AI capabilities in SaaS like Notion AI, Slack AI, Google Workspace AI, GitHub Copilot
• Knowledge of enterprise tools for AI visibility and control (CASB, IDP/Okta, IAM)
• Strong Python programming for security tooling and automation
• Experience deploying cloud services and policy-as-code (Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS)
• Understanding of LLM architectures (RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning, tools)
• Familiarity with OAuth2, SAML, and non-human identities
• Excellent communication to lead cross-functional initiatives
• Experience in regulated environments (SOC 2, PCI DSS) and IAM for non-human identities

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve enterprise AI security review process (architecture, data flows, permissions)
• Threat model AI/LLM systems to identify risks and drive remediation
• Review source code, prompts, agent configurations to ensure security before deployment
• Design guardrails for permissions, authentication, data handling, logging, policy enforcement
• Evaluate third-party SaaS AI capabilities for vendor risk and secure adoption
• Identify AI security vulnerabilities and contribute to incident response playbooks
• Lead cross-functional security initiatives across Security, Eng, Legal, Privacy, Compliance
• Stay current on AI security trends (OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS) and translate to controls
